Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 29, 2026
CardWise ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website cupass.com (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of data when you use our Service.
1. Data We Collect
We do not collect, store, or process any personal data.
- No user accounts: There is no registration, login, or user profile system on this website.
- No form submissions: We do not have contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or comment sections that collect your name, email, or any personal information.
- No server-side data storage: All tools (ATR decoder, key calculators, parsers, etc.) run entirely in your browser. Input data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to our server.
- No payment processing: We do not sell products or services directly and do not collect payment information.
2. Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are popular, how users find us, and how we can improve.
GA4 collects anonymized data including:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Referral source (search engine, social media, direct)
GA4 does not collect your IP address in full (IP anonymization is enabled by default in GA4). No personally identifiable information (PII) is sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by:
- Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Using your browser's "Do Not Track" setting
- Disabling cookies in your browser settings
3. Cloudflare CDN
We use Cloudflare as a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to deliver our website faster and protect against abuse. Cloudflare may process:
- Your IP address (for routing and security, not stored long-term)
- Basic request data (URL, referrer, user agent) for analytics and security filtering
Cloudflare's processing is subject to their Privacy Policy. Cloudflare may place a __cf_bm cookie for bot detection — this cookie does not track you across sites.
4. Advertising
We may display advertisements through third-party ad networks, including but not limited to:
- Google AdSense
- Mediavine
These ad networks may use cookies and web beacons to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history and interests. This is known as interest-based advertising.
You can opt out of personalized advertising:
- Google Ads: Google Ad Settings
- NAI opt-out: Network Advertising Initiative
- DAA opt-out: Digital Advertising Alliance
- Your device's privacy settings (Limit Ad Tracking on iOS, Opt out of Ads Personalization on Android)
5. Affiliate Links
Some pages on our Service contain affiliate links to third-party retailers, including but not limited to Amazon (Amazon Associates Program).
When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. These links are clearly marked with disclosure text (e.g., "CardWise earns commission from qualifying purchases").
Amazon and other retailers may set cookies to track purchases originating from our links. These cookies are set by the retailer, not by us, and are subject to the retailer's privacy policy.
6. Cookies
Our Service uses the following types of cookies:
| Cookie Type | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | Usage measurement | Up to 2 years |
| Security | Cloudflare | Bot detection | 30 minutes |
| Advertising | Ad networks (AdSense, etc.) | Ad personalization & frequency capping | Varies by network |
| Affiliate | Amazon Associates | Purchase attribution | Up to 90 days |
We do not place any first-party tracking cookies of our own. You can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings; the website will continue to function normally (tools do not require cookies to operate).
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, and the right to data portability.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.
We do not collect or sell any personal data. All personal data processing described in this policy is performed by third parties (Google, Cloudflare, ad networks) under their respective privacy policies. To exercise your rights with respect to third-party data processing, please contact those third parties directly.
9. Third-Party Links
Our Service contains links to external websites (e.g., ISO standards, NIST publications, manufacturer datasheets, Amazon product pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. Please review their respective privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
